The Online Gaming Network is dedicated to providing a comprehensive directory and rating system
of today's multiplayer online games. We provide up-to-date news, reviews, game rankings, player comments
and much more.
Our primary objective is to connect game developers with would-be players. By providing a portal like this
we hope to strengthen the online gaming community and open all forms of communication in order for developers
to release games that the general public is yearning for.
On the OGN web site, users will be able to find the hottest games per week, view games based on genre, platform,
interface types, rating and name. Also, peruse overviews and game profiles of each game listed, so that
users can find details about a game before registering.
How Voting Works.
How are votes tallied?
Every unique IP address get one vote per day. The game with the most votes at the end of the week is declared the winner.
What happens if there is a tie in votes?
The tied games will be compared by these categories, in order:
- overall user rating
- number of profile views
- the games position last week
- the games peak position
- the number of weeks the game has been on the top 10
- by name
The first category compared which breaks the tie will determine the winning game.
What are the benefits for the winning game?
The top game for each week will receive the "Rated #1 on theOGN.com" banner to display on their site. As well the winning game for each week will be provided with a link to theOGN archive page where the information about when they won and how many votes they received will be listed.
The top 5 games for the previous week will be displayed on the right-hand side of the main page for one week under "last week's top games".
Why should games be rated?
As votes are reset each week, user ratings, profile views, last week's position, peak position, and number of weeks on the top ten will affect the games initial placement for the upcoming week. Games which consistently perform in these categories will be listed at the top starting each week.
